Multimedia artist Matt Marello is scheduled to take part in a group show titled “Image Is Everything” at the Geoffrey Young Gallery in Barrington, MA early next month and there is nary a link available on the internet. Which means you heard it here first.

Marello, along with 11 other artists (including fellow Pierogi mainstay Kirsten Deirup), will presumably show works that confront the idea of image or design construct. The artist told me personally that he’ll be exhibiting 12 smaller worksroughly 5″x5″ studies of the symbols Marello has intermingled within his wildly psychedelic canvases of the past few years (see here for an overview of his last solo exhibition).

Each study is rendered in gold or silver leaf, and executed in Marello’s hybrid alt-comix-meets-medieval style, where third eyes, severed hands, algebraic equations, and flying gargoyles make up a cosmology of unserious characters conceived seriously.
